Yanis Benchaouch (born 10 April 2006 in Périgueux, France) is a Moroccan footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for AS Monaco.
Biography Club career Yanis Benchaouch was born in Périgueux in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. He grew up in a football-oriented environment — his father having played at the amateur level. Very early on, he was attracted to the position of goalkeeper, and cited Manuel Neuer and Marc-André ter Stegen among his role models.
He started at US Chancelade around the age of five, where he stayed for about five seasons, before a stint at COCC Chamiers. He then joined Trélissac FC, a club in which he trained for several years and which he considers decisive in his development as a young goalkeeper.
Spotted by the AS Monaco Academy, he signed in the summer of 2021 from Trélissac. Initially integrated into the under-17s, he flourished and was rewarded with appearances with the national under-19s, making three starts at the end of the season before the play-offs. With the under-19 category, he won the Gambardella Cup in the 2022-2023 season.
